Mr. Abdus Samad Shaikh, the founding Treasurer, took charge as
General Secretary during the most turbulent period, in 2004,
when conditions had gone against OSA. OSA was facing onslaught
from within as well as without and its existance was under
serious attack. One of our own members turned our foe and
started a dirty tirade against us, complaining to Anjuman,
Charity Commissioner, Police, Incone Tax and Mumbai Municipal
authorities.
Anjuman threw us out unceremoniously, abrogating all its rights
and neglecting all its good deeds. He, with support from Mr.
Haroon, turned the tide and we could sail out of rough weather.
He was instrumental in legal fight with Anjuman, Charity
Commissioner, Income Tax and Municipal Corporation.
But OSA lost its adopted Municipal schools where we used to
conduct our famous OSA Guidance Classes, which were the
financial backbone of OSA.
After taking over as President in 2015, he streamlined the
organisation which was in a disarray after the long fight and
regained lost ground.
Today, OSA is comfortably moving ahead in most of its
objectives.
